Youth Ministry

Youth Ministry (6-12th Grade)

Mission Statement

We reach out to the youth of our church and community through fellowship and fun, with encouragement and support as they experience the fullness of Christian community.

Values

  • Love

Every teenager at NPC and the communities we serve matters to God.
They matter to us.

  • Faith Journey

We encourage youth toward Spiritual growth and trust in Christ.

  • Respect

As Children of God, each teenager will be respected and,
in turn, be taught to respect one another and their surroundings.

  • Joyful Celebration

We believe that fun programs, worship and relationships honor Christ

  • Inclusivity

Newlonsburg Presbyterian Church is a Matthew 25 and a welcoming community. As such, we welcome all young people and are committed to being a safe space for them.

  • Service

We reach out as God’s partners to serve others.

Opportunities for Middle and High School Students:
Youth Group

Youth group is open to those in 6th-12th grade and meets on the first and third wednesday of the month starting at 6PM and ending at 8PM. We start with an open gym followed by dinner, which is Pizza from Fox's Pizza and end the night with a game. Friends are always welcome to join us!

Additionally, NPC hosts Recreational Afterschool Ministry for middle schoolers (6th-8th grade). Students enjoy snacks, games, and devotionals in a friendly and fun environment. RAM takes place Tuesdays and Thursday afternoons, from 3-4:30 pm.

Sunday School

Youth in grades 6-12 gather each week from 9:45 am-10:45 am for enriching and engaging lessons that give them a deeper understanding of the Bible.

Currently, we are using Orange!

It’s about influencing the faith and future of our teenagers. It combines youth development and theology that creates a powerful strategy to develop a deeper faith. We will meet each Sunday in the youth classroom (room 106) from 9:45 - 10:45 am.

As part of Sunday School 8th graders typically participate in Confirmation class. Elders usually prepare the eighth grade students for their Confirmation. The leaders work with these young Christians to guide them and prepare them to become active, educated members of NPC. Confirmation class is usually offered as the 8th grade Sunday school class on Sunday mornings as well as responsibilities to be completed during one of the worship services.

Mission Oriented

Newlonsburg Presbyterian Church is a community dedicated to service. We practice this value by being mission oriented and providing young people with opportunities to serve local and distant communities.

Fundraisers

Our fundraisers are a means to support the programs, activites, and work of our young people. We frequently need adult helpers as well.
