Haiti Kids Program

The Haiti Kids program grew out of several mission trips made by NPC members and others to the La Croix New Testament Mission in rural Haiti. Limited trips have been made over the last few years due to the violence and political instability in Haiti. We continue our relationship with the La Croix New Testament Mission through sponsorship of children in the schools of La Croix New Testament Mission.

How does the sponsorship program work?
Newlonsburg Presbyterian Church sponsors children enrolled at Pastor Pierre’s schools in LaCroix and Paul, Haiti. If you sponsor a child, you get a specific child (including a picture and some personal information like birthday and shoe size) and their sponsorship ID number. The sponsored kid gets school tuition, school uniform, school books, and one hot meal a day. We get periodic updates, which are posted on the Outreach bulletin board.

How do I pay?

By Check: Please make your checks out to ‘NPC – Haiti Kids’ and put the child’s number in the ‘memo’ section of the check. Sponsorship is $20 a month. You can pay monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, or annually and put the Haiti Kids payment in the “Haiti Kids Box” rather than the offering plate.

Can I get in touch with my kid?
Absolutely! Your child wants mail from you and would love to have a photo of you! You can hand your mail to Jack or Kathy for transport with a visiting team (best way) or mail direct to:

The children in Haiti need your continued support and prayers. Pastor Pierre and his co-workers have made the LaCroix Mission an oasis of peace, learning, and Christian Fellowship amidst the natural disasters and civil unrest that plagues the country. Pastor Pierre recently returned to Haiti and was pleased at how well everything was running without him. We will try to provide updates as we have them, but the best way to get news is to e-mail your child and find out from him or her how things are going!
