Hurricaine Sandy Recovery Mission Trips

Members of Newlonsburg Presbyterian Church continue to participated in mission trips sponsored by Lend a Hand Disaster Response Missions of the Carlisle Presbytery of Pennsylvania.

Over a year has gone by since this devastating storm ravaged the east coast of the United States in late October 2012 and there is still much work to be done to help residents of New Jersey repair and rebuild their damaged homes. NPC Outreach is planning to partner again with Lend A Hand Disaster Response Missions to participate in work trips to Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey in the upcoming months. In 2013, Tom Moser, Roger Schneider, Frank Scuillo, Pastor Curtis, and Sharon & Leonard Scimio participated at least one of 3 trips that NPC has made. The total of 13 Lend A Hand trips so far involved over 280 volunteers with an accumulated total of over 9,400 hours of recovery work completed. Lend A Hand Disaster Response Mission has been an outreach ministry of the Presbytery of Carlisle, PA since it was founded in 1989.
